Hi

I'm having an issue with a second call coming in when already on a call. The ringing is so loud on the headset that I can't hear the person I am already on a call with. Is there a way to change settings so that calls coming in don't actually ring when already on a call?

It's on a headset without a physical phone, so not as if I can set it to ring on a deskphone but not on headset.

Thanks

Hi Fiona,

Normally you should just here a beep informing you there is a 2nd incoming call.

Which version of the Windows client are you currently using?

16.3.0.172

And are you using any type of headset integration (so the headset button can answer the call) like Sennheiser, Plantronics or Jabra?

And are you perhaps running your webclient in the background too?

Hi

It's a Jabra headset. The webclient sits open on one screen when working on another. When calls come in the webclient comes to the front and press enter to answer/button on headset, but if already on a call it rings very loudly in ear until someone else picks up the call.

Thanks for your help.

I see, so in this case when the Windows client and Webclient are both open, they act as independent clients and they can both ring simultaneously when you have a call.

If you were to only use the Windows client for example, the 2nd call would be forced to notify you via the Windows client alone, and you will only here a short beep informing you that you have a call waiting.

Whereas now, you are already on a call in your windows client, and the webclient also starts ringing in your ear is that correct?

Sorry, I'm confusing things. It's just the windows 3cx app, not a system in a browser. We don't use the browser version.

Ah ok, no worries. You can grab our latest Windows app from here so we can see if this happens on the latest version: https://www.3cx.com/phone-system/download-links/

You might also want to close your Jabra Direct app next time you test (because I'm not sure if you are hearing our ringtone, or the one Jabra generates which is different)
