Hi,
It would be useful to have more control over which registered devices ring depending on the active forwarding profile.
Currently, users can work with profiles such as:
When this profile is active, we would like to disable ringing on the user's office IP phone, while still allowing calls to ring on the 3CX softphone and/or smartphone app.
At the moment, the office IP phone can still ring even though the user is working remotely. This can be disruptive for colleagues who are physically present in the office, especially when multiple employees are working from home.
For example:
Custom 1 – Working from Home
It would be useful to have more control over which registered devices ring depending on the active forwarding profile.
Currently, users can work with profiles such as:
- Available
- Busy
- Do Not Disturb
- Custom 1
- Custom 2
- IP Phone
- 3CX Desktop / Web Client
- 3CX Mobile App
Example use case
We use Custom 1 as a "Working from Home" profile.
Suggested functionality
Within each forwarding profile, add a simple option to select which devices should ring. For example:
Custom 1 – Working from Home
- IP Phone: Off
- Desktop/Web Client: On
- Mobile App: On
Benefits
This would:- Prevent unattended office phones from ringing when employees are working remotely.
- Reduce unnecessary noise and disruption in the office.
- Give users more flexibility when switching between office and remote work.
- Make the existing Custom 1 and Custom 2 forwarding profiles more useful for hybrid-working scenarios.
