Hello Everyone!

I'm looking for a way to unlock our door using the IVR. At the entrance, we have a calling system (kind of intercom) where the visitor can select our company from the intercom menu and reach our IVR. I set up a CID rule to have the call from the Intercom to be routed to a particular IVR. I would like the user to be prompted with a welcome message and if the user enters "123" on the intercom, 3CX sends back a DTMF "9" to unlock the door. I can't figure out how to have this DTMF tone sent back.

Any idea?
Thanks!
Simon

There is nothing to do with the Launch script option in the IVR setting?
Maybe the script could send a DTMF?

I was thinking...send the caller to a voicemail where the outgoing message was the DTMF recording of a "9". But..being an audio file, and depending on the Codec you are using, it may not pass through 3CX correctly enough to be deciphered. (poor quality)

Compressed codecs can render DTMF tones useless if using inband or RFC 2833 codecs.

You haven't mentioned but are you using 3CX version 16, there are scripts added in this version and a lot more IVR options.

...or tap a friend that knows electronics. Cannibalising an old analogue phone, add 3 LM555 timers, along with some relays and assorted miscellaneous bits, a device could be built.

It is such a specific requirement that I don't think the chances are good of finding a ready made device. But who knows...do some Google searches.

The script can only pass an exit code to the IVR and the IVR can use that code to send the call to a predefined destination. It cannot send a DTMF tone back to the intercom device.
As suggested it might be worth it to take a look at the Call Flow Designer.

LOL, actually it worked! That is clever. I hadn't thought about that, thanks for the suggestion.
We use G711u everywhere and the intercom take it without complaining.

Thanks!

I wasn't certain that it would as there are so many variables involved, and everyone's set-up is different. Glad it worked for you. Will have to remember that as I'm certain it will come up again.

Glad to see you were to make this work. Great thinking by @leejor on this one
