Sending external calls directly to voicemail

I've done some digging but haven't found a solution. Is it possible to send external calls to voicemail while accepting internal calls? For classroom school teachers this would be a preferred solution.

Unfortunately external and internal follow same timing of "x" seconds before change during available.
Incoming Rules are based on time of day of "office" open or closed.

You could try using exceptions to achieve the desired behaviour. You can find the under extension settings / Forwarding rules.

That looks like it has potential. Is there a "wildcard" string I can use in the caller ID field that would send all 10 digit calls to the appropriate action?

After further review I don't believe that option will work. We need something end users can enable/disable as needed. What I think I need is a different timeout value setting for external vs internal calls for statuses. Then I could have a status "Teaching" that would allow internal calls to ring and external calls direct to voicemail...

Any thoughts if that is available?

Please note that this is not possible through status changing as the timer applies for both internal and external calls.
