Hi there!

I am having the following issue. I have a Sipgate Trunk with 3 numbers and I have chosen one of them as my Мain Trunk number. They will be used with 3 physical phones. I want to set it up the way that when an incoming call comes in, all 3 of the phones will ring. But also need to be able to call each extension directly. I have created a "Reception" ring group with Ring All strategy, where all three of my extensions are added. Inbound and outbound calls with the SIP Trunk work fine to each extension, but the Reception does not work. So my question is how can I set it up the way that incoming calls will go through the ring group, but also still have the option to directly call an extension? I hope I was able to explain the issue well, I am new to 3CX and I am not used to the right terminology.

Hi @Izata,

To clarify, you want your Ring Group to be the Main Trunk number on a Ring All strategy, but you also want each of the 3 physical phones to be directly accessed via external calls as well? Each external call to a phone will require 1 DID.

Therefore you need 4 DIDs for this set up, 1 for the Ring Group and 3 for the phones individual DIDs.

You could also look into using an IVR to offer options (for ring group press 1, for phone 1 press 2 etc).

Thank you for your reply! I guess I will have to configure the 3CX another way since I will only have the 3 numbers.

Hi @Izata,

You could use the IVR method suggested? This would only use 1 DID and allow people to choose who they'd like to talk to. The other 2 DIDs could be used however else you'd like.
