Shared Parking Pick Up from Mobile and DECT - v20

On v18, I used to often create several "dummy" extensions on systems and make them extension numbers such as 771, 772 and 773. These extension numbers correspond to the letters for SP1. SP2 and SP3. I would set the forwarding on these dummy extensions to go to Number and SP1, SP2 and SP3.

On v18, if you parked a call in one of the SP slots using a 3CX app or a deskphone, you could retrieve it on the 3CX mobile app or on a phone like a DECT phone that does not have BLF buttons. This was extremely handy on v18, as customers that come from systems like NEC, Panasonic, etc love to use shared parking. However being able to pick up a parked call from a mobile app or DECT is not normally available on 3CX, so this workaround was great for doing this.

I have tried this same config on v20, but if you try to pick up a parked call by dialling the dummy extension 771, 772 or 773, this now no longer works and you get a voice prompt error message, when you try it. Having set this on loads of systems, I am going to have a lot of disappointed customers now that they can no longer use this.

Does anyone have any alternative ways of picking up shared parking calls from 3CX mobile app or from DECT handsets (without BLF buttons)? Alternatively 3CX can you bring back this ability?

Also, parking orbits just don't cut it, I am afraid as there is not any indication on devices that do have BLFs.

Tronic since you appear to be the brains here. Can you give me a hint in where to find it in the template, I looked at the wb70 and did not see it anywhere. I did use your idea on a couple DECTphones that are local but we have some that are out of state and I don't have remote access. I know where the rule is in yealink ip phones but can not find it in the DECT template. I'm really hoping that 3CX does bring back dummy extensions to allow easy pickup of shared park calls. It is the last object for us to update all of our clients to V20.

Thanks for the compliment, but I just work on 3CX all day.

Just remember that a custom template means no support from 3CX support.

I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. This is from the Yealink deskphone template.

You can now use SPXX in apps, so i would be surprised if this doesn't now work as a dummy extension as well.

Yep that header is on a regular desk ip phone. I don't see it anywhere in the Dect templates, that's why I asked. I get it about support from 3CX using custom templates but thanks for the heads up. I have tried dummy extensions to no avail. Your fix for the Dect is still the best I have come across. So thank you for that

Thanks!

Not sure if you caught my edit/redact about another workaround should one desire to define a dial code to the retrieval CF; I was prematurely confident on the proper way to accomplish this but am confident now.

Best way to accomplish this bit if you don't want to deal with variable modifications is to first design-build-upload.

Next, copy/save the compiled script from the web interface into a text editor and keep track of the audio prompt file.

Delete the CF from the server.

Using the web interface, create a new Call Processing (or CF *the inconsistency is driving me bonkers!) script, ensuring the Name is defined exactly as stated in the script after "namespace". Define the dial code to your likening. Click OK.

Upload the audio prompt file.

Paste the script back in.

Save.
Any chance you could provide the source code? I tried to follow your original instructions but when I call the extension "610" it plays the prompt, then I hang up but never receive the call back. But if you look at the panel, it shows I'm still connected but in limbo. The blf "SP0" is no longer lit up like it was when I first manually placed it in park. Somehow, my script is unparking it but not redirecting the call back.

Just came across this post.

Similar to @RAPP81 I've always just used a separate CFD for each unpark slot and have the CFD extension the number I want the internal staff to use to unpark a call.

Most people only need to unpark from the cordless or quick way for desk phones i find. Then from a cordless they would just transfer to a user instead of parking the call.

Below is how to configure the 701 unpark a call from SP1

I also tried your script and having the same problem. I manually put any call on SP9. My script is listening on extension 510. When I dial that extension, the parked call, gets unparked, and stuck in limbo. I know it's still connected because I see it on the 3cx panel. But the SP9 blf light is off. Can you someone look at my script to see where I'm messing up?

Ok looks like my mistake, as it works perfectly with a DECT phone. My original tests were with a SIP phone. All good. :)

What about picking up parked calls from an Analog phone? Like many others, we use a dummy ext. so people can pick up parked calls from any phone in the building of which many are analog (in the warehouse area). If someone is walking a 1/4 a mile from the main office to say shipping dept., they can pick up a call from any analog phone hanging on the end of aisle. For example, our front desk 'operator' staff can quickly press a BLF key to park a call, for example they press SP1. Next, they grab an open line and do a whole building page "Stan, you have a call parked on x3001" and Stan can grab that call parked on SP1 by dialing 3001#.

Right now, my only work-around is to re-program the Operator's BLF SP keys, do a speed dial and name it “SP1” where it dials *01. They do a page but will have to say "Stan, parked call on *11". It works but it has issues. First, the call will not "unpark" and rebound back after xx seconds. Second, the operator cannot see that someone is parked on that BLF key as technically the call isn't there. And everyone at each site needs to be re-educated.

I vote to change things back the way it worked on v18.

Wow, this is a big thing to my company. Please let them be working on a way to allow us to do this again.

The mobile apps have Shared Parking now.

Thank you. This helps some. But we don't typically program all the of the shared parks (about 50) to everybody's BLF fields. But it gives me an idea on how we could start rearranging.

Last time I tried in v20 it didn't work. Not sure either how the MakeCall is setup.

I tried the model made by RAPP81 from this thread

It works mostly. I have issues with it not always connecting the park to the phone the Call Flow was called from. When users have multiple phones connected to the system, it seems to randomly pick which phone it connects the park to. Testing with my boss, it would keep connecting me to the phone at his house, not the desk phone in his office which he dialed from.

So you are saying its creating a call back? ( did notice that during testing) We need a direct call not a callback

so if it comes to the same phone if the user terminates the call before the recording ends, the park is now online, even though the user hit end.

Anyone else come up with a way an analog phone can pick up a parked call on SP! ?
Dummies worked will :-(

Unfortunately we were just informed that a client was moving to an alternative systems because we could not make this work like it used to.. It was only an 8sc but it always stinks to lose a client.

If a CFD App with a callback via makecall (in the disconnect handler flow) is not an option: I don't think so. At least I don't know or heard of any.
