We're a small school district, with limited funds, running an Asterisk server deployed around 2005. I need to get it replaced this summer.

I've deployed 3CX in a VM, and have even gotten our dated 7940's to work - we'll replace them one by one as time moves on.

From my understanding, our Asterisk server is utilizing a PRI card, with a single cable from At&t, providing access to 25 lines. (My terminology may be off, I'm not all that familiar with telecom.)

With that, what's the ideal solution for using this? A gateway? Just looking for some guidance.

a PRI gateway, yes.

If your budget is tight, I'd consider talking to AT&T about doing a conversion from PRI to SIP. PRI gateways are not cheap.

Thanks everyone, looks like we may go with a PRI Gateway from Patton.
