SIP Trunk between 3CX and Grandstream UCM 6202

Hi Team,

Apologies if there any mistakes in my wordings. I am very new to this forum and beginner as well.

I have grand stream UCM 6202 with 2 trunk lines (2 DIFFERENT NUMBERS) and i already register in 3CX cloud. I hosted the 3cx in AWS and trying to create SIP trunk between grandstream & 3cx, but no luck. Can anyone help me out to resolve the issue.

Remote FXO gateways are not supported in 3CX. That said, a number of people have attempted to get them working, but, with mixed results. The biggest issue is going to begetting call from 3CX to the gateway, especially if it is located behind a router, as the destination (IP and port) is set in the 3CX trunk settings. Even if a SIP message can get through using port forwarding, you may not have the same success with the voice ports.

You might consider using VPN, or, have a read through this, about possibly using an SBC....

Well this isn't a FXO gateway but a PBX appliance. I'd search under Asterisk <--> 3CX trunking since the UCM is running Asterisk and get familiar with wireshark

Sorry, not really familiar with it, and did a quick look-up, and saw FXOs, and made an incorrect assumption. my bad.

So...that being the case (it is a PBX), the methods to connect, and it is going to depend on your requirements, would be....

The Grandstream, as a VoIP trunk, registering to a Bridge Trunk on 3CX

3CX, as a generic trunk, registering to a FXS extension on the Grandstream

An FXO, on the Grandstream wired to an ATA, set-up as a remote extension from 3CX

The first one would give you the most flexibility, the other two will have limitations, especially if determining call origination (Caller ID), is important.

Thank you all for your valuable time and advise. As I am a beginner, is there any document or URL available to refer. My PBX (Grandstream UCM 6202) is sitting behind the router and 3CX in AWS. I tried to create a VoIP trunk between both but no luck. So if anyone can help me to provide any configuration guide or step by step will be highly appreciable.

Did you try a Bridge trunk? The original post, on establishing one (to Asterisk), has been removed from the 3CX site, but there is this link.

Perhaps you can elaborate on the issues you encountered. Did you set up a Master Bridge trunk and attempt to register from the Grandstream?

Thanks for your quick response. I am having standard license and guess bridging will professional and enterprise license.

I have Grandstream UCM 6202 PBX with extensions and recently i bought 3CX standard license hosted in AWS. i done the NAT (Port forwarding) in my router for the ports 5060 & 5090. I just created a SIP peer trunk to 3CX in Grand stream UCM 6202 and status showing not reachable. Same way i am trying to create a SIP trunk in 3CX but not success.

My goal is, employees can use softphone without using SSL VPN.

It sounds as if you are going to have to overcome some networking issues, which may just be the first step. You might consider using Wireshark, to help troubleshoot.

Linking a UCM to 3CX is not an easy task and will probably never work correctly, specially with CID issues.

Start by using a master bridge trunk, and link your UCM with that. This will allow extension dialing from the UCM.

Then, it's trial and error.
