With update 7 I was just trying out SMS integration over the break. All our numbers are in a 10 digit national format. I tried Telnyx as a provider but they seem to only support numbers in +E164 format and this works fine when in that format but not our 10 digit national format. The outbound rules and E164 processing only seem to be applicable to voice calls?

Is there something I don't understand or a different way of looking at this?

I'm having trouble picking up the actual problem here. Is incoming or outgoing SMS not working?

Outgoing SMS messages from chat work if I use +E164 number format, ie +61 444 123 456. All our numbers in the CRM etc are in a 10 digit national number format. It appears you can do this on voice with E164 processing or outbound rules.

Will 3CX convert SMS numbers to a +E164 format?

It appears from your testing the answer is no, at least not currently.

You will need to change the way you store the numbers, otherwise you will end up trying to send a number to the provider which they do not accept. 3CX will not up-convert the number into E164.

However, when you click to create an SMS conversation and you select a contact, if the contact is not saved in E.164 format, the WebClient will prompt you to adjust the number with the below dialog box
