Hey,

Has anyone tries VoIP.ms SMS service with 3cx? I don't see SMS tab in voip.ms SIP trunk, I have v.20 of 3cx.

https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/usa/
According to 3CX's documentation, VoIP.MS has either not passed 3CX's interop test for SMS or does not have SMS support compatible with 3CX.
You should choose a provider recommended by 3CX and support SMS and ensure that the SMS service is compatible.

Why was Wavix replaced?

Voip.ms has started SMS with 3cx and there is a whole guideline on voip.ms on how to do that, it says that we should have latest version of PBX as well as updated voip.ms sip template, since we are already on v20 of 3cx so i was looking for a way to have latest sip template because on voip.ms guides there are screenshots of SMS tab in voip.ms SIP trunk on 3cx.

And we are not replacing Wavix, but Wavix doesn't have MMS for Canada for now so just exploring options.

You mentioned it, you found the information on the Voip.MS website. So, the question should be directed to Voip.MS, not to 3CX.

Adding a touch of humor (and I'm not mocking you), if I write in Wikipedia that I'm the CEO of 3CX, do you think Mr. Galea would let me sit at his desk in his place ? xD :p

It's not impossible that Voip.MS has adapted its SMS service using 3CX's generic template, akin to what VoiceMeUp has done (as I've posted here).
This might mean that Voip.MS has made an error in their procedures.

Perhaps interoperability tests are currently being conducted at 3CX?
Once again, Voip.MS would be the entity that could answer this question.

Haha we will definitely certify VoIP. Ms we will follow up after v20 release

Nick, trying to setup Voip.MS with SMS - it's not showing an SMS tab in the Trunk setup. have they been certified yet? @Nick Galea

We are working on it, we will revert

Revert means we will get back to you. So voip.ms will be with sms in update 2, which is not that far off.

So you can simply use voip.ms knowing it will come say in a month max

Thanks Nick - looking forward to it being setup. Certainly confusing now with the docs not matching the current state.

Mine still shows: Version 20.0 Update 1 (Build 731

SMB version ( hosted by 3CX ) ?

In this case you will need to wait for the stable release to get the option.

i switched from generic trunk to move the settings into the voip.ms trunk after the update and while inbound sms works fine, im getting the following:
Code:
Failed to send message(s) to the provider 'generic' from 'REDACTED' to 'REDACTED'. Exception: {"errors":[{"code":"10009","meta":{"url":"https://developers.telnyx.com/docs/overview/errors/10009"},"title":"Authentication failed","source":{"pointer":"/"},"detail":"Could not find any usable credentials in the request."}]}

I've noticed that provider says generic in the error, could it be stuck trying to use the old non-existent trunk?

I was researching this and see the exact same error message with voip.ms. Inbound works but not outbound.

Yep, I have seen this one and the other one from 3cx. Everything looks correct.
