We had an issue, when trying to use Plantronic headset with the new Universal WebHID that was released with update 6 of 3CX. After some troubleshooting, we figure out it was because the Plantronic Hub application was installed on the pc. Upon unistalling the Plantronic Hub, we we're able to use the headset onhook and offhook button. Things to keep in mind though:
1) Headset needs to be updated using Plantronic Hub
2) After headset has been updated, uninstall the Plantronic Hub app from computer.
3) Pair your headset to the webclient/desktop client using the Universal WebHID drivers located in ... - Settings - Audio/Video.
So far, I tested these headset:
Plantronic Voyager office 4245 - Works
Plantronic Blackwire 3200 - Works
Plantronic CS540 using a Plantronic APU-76 - Headset on/offhook button doesn't work. Seems it might be an update issue on Plantronic side cause both the 4245 and blackwire 3200 had a new update recently and without that update, the WebHID didn't work.
Hopes this helps! Please post other Plantronic models that are tested to work, or not work with the Universal WebHID drivers
