I am trying to get a Linksys SPA942 onto my phone system. Its over manual configuration, and in fact, was on the phone system earlier today. However, when I went to reuse this phone for a new extension, I cannot get it to register. I have all the info correct, I have the UserID set to the Extension, and have taken the login and password from the extension page (under the authentication heading) and put those in the AuthID and Password field. Use AuthID is set to yes. I'm not understanding why I can't set it up again as it was just on the phone system earlier today working completely fine. (I had this problem before but thought it was a phone hardware issue). Anyone still using one of these dinosaurs that can help?

I have a number of them but, for the time being they have been put into storage, as I've moved onto the SPA525G as they have a colour display and Wifi.

Are the sets being used locally, to the 3CX PBX?
Have you checked the 3CX Activity Log to see if there is a registration attempt?
Do you have other 942s that are still working?
When you went to "reuse" the phone, did you just simply change the extension number and password, or do a reset?

Are the sets being used locally, to the 3CX PBX? yes. They are on the internal LAN.
Have you checked the 3CX Activity Log to see if there is a registration attempt? No, I didn’t.
Do you have other 942s that are still working? Yes. - at least 5 others. And this one was working with a different extension before i went to use it for a new user.
When you went to "reuse" the phone, did you just simply change the extension number and password, or do a reset? Just changed the extension/login info.

The fact the the others are working suggests that unless there is an issue with that one set (it's "broken"), then it must be a programming problem. Check the Activity Log, see if there is a registration error...incorrect password, perhaps. If there is no sign of a registration attempt, check to see if the phones IP has been blacklisted.

It was the blacklist. I've turned up the settings on that as for a while we were getting a large amount of people attempting to get in, so now it blacklists within a few seconds. So when I deleted the account that was previously on that phone, it was added to the list right away. Thanks for the reminder!

I have always put my local LAN into the Whitelist, as I have had devices put themselves on the blacklist from time to time.
