SSH to 3cx server

Hi cant seem to stay away from this forum ,

i am unable to ssh via putty to the server - the login and password has not been changed but i cant get in, is there something i am missing - please advise
I don't have any other issues getting into the GUI etc. is working 100%

How do you install the debian version of 3CX - did you use 3CX Debian ISO image ? - https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/installing-debian-linux-pbx/

If so you would have been prompted for a root username password - this is what you use to connect to the server

Yes I used the 3cx iso and i did setup successfully, used the same password to log into the gui!

Can you login to the system on the console screen ?

This session would normally run at port 22 I believe, is this port open on the firewall? Or are you on the same local network on the machine?

Also when you say you cannot get in, how do you define that? Password not accepted? Session timeout? etc
