We Need a solution for this issue.
We purchased 3cx Licience from a vendor and he has installed the 3cx in our system but came to know after one year when we need to renew he has registered the Licience and the email in his name and all the 3cx conformity of ownership everything is with him and he is not giving us by withholding the email With him. Of course we have control panel access. Licience details and payments made to him will be supplied on your request by email.

I suggest reaching out to a different 3CX partner who can engage 3CX on your behalf to get control of the key. Alternatively if your renewal is up you can just buy a new key and replace in your install and not have to deal with that vendor at all. Happy to help if you are US based.

shady business....

Thank you for the reply.... I have the Licience key and the control panel but the email is registered in his name I want to change the email ... if I renew the email will go to him right....?.

If by control panel you are referring to the management console, then if you buy your own separate key you can replace it directly from the management console, via the License Settings.

Does the vendor own the key entirely?

This is what i was trying to say. If you buy a new key (same price as renewing your current key) you can just replace it in the portal and the new key will be tied to your email address and you are all set. Feel free to reach out to us to purchase your key and help with the process if you are in the US or find another partner local to you if not.

Thank you for your reply...

We had paid full while purchasing the license one year back and we have the " Management Console" and everything in our control except one thing " 1.) Email and mobile number in the registering details in " License setting" is in his name not our name so the " CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP" everything goes in his email. (2) Our system is running so we do not want FQDN should change in any way. If I buy new license key I have to pay again and FQDN will change.?? HOW DO I CHANGE THE EMAIL (Which is mentioned in Registration details) TO MY EMAIL..????

Hello,

Here are your options as I see it:

1.) Contact your Reseller for updating the Customer Details: they can simply change the owner details via their portal, and the key will show your name, phone and email. You cannot manage the key though, they manage it for you as your reseller, even though everything is in your name.

2.) Contact your Reseller for Transfer of ownership: you can create your own 3CX customer account, and they can transfer the key to you on the email you registered with 3CX as a private customer. They can link their Reseller ID to your system so you are still their customer, and you now fully manage the key, which means you are responsible for renewing, upgrading/downgrading the license and following any newsletters about changes that may affect you

3.) Purchase a new key, and replace the existing one. Exactly as option 2 but they key changes so no transfer of ownership takes place. You create your own 3CX customer account, and buy a new key belonging to you on the email you registered with 3CX as a private customer. You now fully manage the key, which means you are responsible for renewing, upgrading/downgrading the license and following any newsletters about changes that may affect you. The existing FQDN becomes unlinked from the old key the partner installed on your system, and becomes bound to the key you now own. If you choose option 3. contact me first BEFORE you proceed, I may need to check your existing key.

Each option has its pros/cons, consider the above and decide accordingly. Personally I would recommend option 1. It's the quickest and easiest

Option 1 or 2 doesn't work when the reseller isn't cooperating. Option 3 seems like his best bet.

Thank you for the above details.I have checked with my "present reseller" but they cannot do from there " Partner Portal" because this license was purchased from a freelancer who don't take the telephone. So we want to change the email and mobile number and we are safe. I will attach the license details if it is ok...(If we should not post in public) please delete it. We need to change the details marked in round. If you want more details I will send you separately in your email.

Edited by a moderator: Please NEVER post your license key on a public forum..

FACEPALM!

@Seby You really need to read, not skim, just go buy a new license and put the new key in!

(BIG NEON SIGN pointing at my last sentence here)

I said option 3 - just above...
Nobody reads anymore... (I get email replies often answering 1st question - but ignores the other x# questions)

Ok then you are clearly left only with Option 3 - Buy a new key and replace it from your management console.
