Hi,

Running v18.0 Update 7 (Build 441) on-prem self hosted Windows Server. Renewed our subscription over a month ago. When logged into the admin portal I noticed a warning stating our license expired last week. I've tried refreshing the license and receive the error below. activate.3cx.com is definitely accessible from our server (responds to pings using fqdn). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

3CX failed to establish a TCP connection to activate.3cx.com.
Ensure that the local or border firewalls are configured to allow outbound traffic to activate.3cx.com

Build 8B or 9 is required to activate. If you can’t update, afraid you’ll have to uninstall, reinstall, and restore from backup.

Thanks Steve. What a pain just to activate a license.

Yeah they really want you to stay up to date. Sounds like the cert will be updated at most yearly.

Per https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v18-u8-final/ you can try contacting customer support but that’s what they were posting last fall.

I understand them wanting customers to stay up to date, but this is absurd just for a license renewal. I wish I would've received some sort of notification. I have other priorities aside from monitoring our PBX for updates.

@Ryan Fioravanti Hi there.
The customer must be up to date to be supported, but also there were some SSL issues in our ERP activation server, and this was a must-to update to get your Phonesyem activated. Your solution now will be to reinstall with the backup restore.

Backup and restore takes maybe 15 minutes... You dont need to monitor your pbx for updates, just read your mails and just have sometimes a look on your dashboard. If you dont have the time to do this, ask your partner to do it for you.

Didn't realize the reinstall/restore would be that quick. Unfortunately our partner recently informed me he decided to discontinue supporting his 3CX customers with the push to hosted.

Time to find a new partner!
