Suggestions on RaspberryPi shortage

Due to the world wide chip shortage it's hard to acquire RaspberryPi's, 4B or 3B+, they are all out of stock.
I was wondering if anyone has came up with a solution that fits within the same price range, I couldn't find any good alternative below €200,-

There's some Protectli type clones on Amazon, and at least for us as a reseller there's tons of refurbished PCs (HP, Lenovo, Dell) we can get through distribution that are around US $110-125.

Having been surprised by the lack of field upgrade to the OS, we're considering VMs where we can. If anything happens to the original we can just install it again with the same IP on another host, even a workstation in a pinch, faster than we can replace it.

Yes,they have, but when you order, you can't order more than one, they limit quantity on each order.

For now like Cobaltit, I use second hand micro PC, like Dell 3xxx series or HP G... series with a new SSD inside and 4 or 8GB memory and it goes nearly same cost as a new PI

You installing Debian on it or Windows?

it depends if SBC or PBX rule, also if I have an easy access or not to location and /or customer LAN, so sometime Windows,sometime Debian

You can do either as refurb mini pcs usually have Windows CoA sticker/license but we do everything in linux now

Sure, but they have stock on some kits. I don't need 8GB of ram but for the extra $20 to be able to deploy another site now, eh.

I'm sure in the future those slightly larger units will come in handy too, either as expansion or just how long they can be used

Curious, which one do you use for SBCs? I couldn't decide between 2-4gb of RAM nor which models (I'm not very knowledgeable in Pis.)

3CX states it should be

• A Raspberry PI 4 B4 or B8

They have both, but I've been doing 8's at $145 (4's are in stock at $125 right now)
