Hello,

same procedure as every year James: No...but now with V20: I´ve got a question, one of our customers want to switch to another VoIP-Provider, without changing numbers, dialplans or anything else. Does anyone knows how to make this scenerio working with the 3CX Pro on Prem installation? We don´t want to add all numbers to a new trunk or configure inbound and outbound rules, only the VoIP-Provider is changing. Both providers are certified for 3CX, the customer simple want to change because of the price he pays for the monthly phone bill.

For the V18 NicholasP_3CX came out with a very good solution (here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/switching-to-another-voip-provider.114568/#post-530789), but some functions are missing in the V20 interface, so I need help again

Thank you for an advice!

Sincerly

Kai

The procedure is pretty much the same, save for the exporting of the DIDs

  • Go to your inbound rules and EXPORT your rules.
This one does not apply to Version 20. what you can do in this case, is just copy paste the numbers from the DIDs tab of the provider to a TXT file You will not be able to export in Version 20.
  • Go to your Emergency Number settings, and change your emergency number routing to go through your new provider.
The same applies in Version 20
  • Go to your outbound rules and reassign the routes to go through your new provider
The same applies in Version 20
  • Delete your old provider. (This will delete any inbound rules you have for this provider)
The same applies in Version 20
  • Go to the Inbound rules and ADD a new CID rule. Take a note of the 5 digit code in front of the new providers name. (no need to save t. we just need that reference number)
This is no longer required.
  • Go to the CSV which was created on the export of your inbound rules.
This is a lot simpler in Version 20. Prior to Update 5, you can import your DIDs into the provider. all you need is a TXT file with one DID per line (row). You will then need to go and reassign the DIDs to each of your destinations

With Update 5 (still in BETA!!!) you can import your DIDs along with the destination in one simple CSV file

The format for that is: +19995551000,100,John's DID
That is DID,Destination Extension,Description
  • Change the port number for each of your existing rules to the new port number of the provider you got from step 6.
This is no longer needed.
  • Import your modified exportDID.csv file
See above. This is already done.

So essentially the only thing missing is the export of the DIDs, if we are talking about update 5. Up to update 4 there is a bit of work that would need to be done to get the DIDs assigned.

Hi NicholasP_3CX,

thanks for your fast answer! Very sad, that an export is not possible anymore, was a very easy and cool feature what makes 3CX different and the administration much more easy...
