Hi folks,

i have the following issue and hope that somebody could ghelp me,

i have a on prem 3cx V18 (18.0.9.20) and i'm missing the system owner role on my system to perform an update to V20.

i looked through all extension, but no one has the role and if i setup a new extension there is no option to allocate the role

Where are you logging in, please?

For example, is the management console with the admin user or an extension? Or the admin console with an extesnion?

If using an extesnion, which role does it have?

hi
I use my extension as a login to the management console which has the manager role.

I also did have a look in the xml file inside a backup if I can see an user or extension with higher level, but there is none.

You will need to log in as the admin to the management console to see users with higher rights.

I would login as admin, but there is no admin user that I’m aware of, as I mentioned I looked in the backup file for an admin user but there is none.

Access the management console log-in page, then click the forgot password, enter the user admin ( as long as the admin username was not changed), and press reset password.

This will send an email to the admin email address, from which you can use to log in to the systems management console with the username admin.

sadly this trick is not working, i didn't get an mail in al our mailboxes nor in the catch all mailbox

Who set up this system for you? Can you not log in with the first extension that was created when the system was first installed, as this will be a system owner?

@ICTS ProTech if the email address is not unique 3CX will not send a password reset.

This will not matter if you reset the password using the super admin user 'admin' or whichever admin user name it was changed to if previously changed.

Oh good to know, thanks.

It could still be the scenario I'm working on right now with a new customer, where the admin is the previous partner's email.

When you choose the forgot password option in the management console log-in page and enter admin, let's just call it 'admin' as this is by default, and for simplicity's sake, the email is sent to the admin email address as set under the management console > Settings > email > notification section.

Hi Charles,

the system was setup a few years ago with V16 from a former colleague, and no the first ever created extension of the installation is deleted.

I did asked my former colleague and he told me that there was never a system owner nor did he changed the admin username, bus sadly i did not get an email when i click "password recovery" with the username admin
