System Setup Clarifications

Hi all,

We've been testing 3CX for weeks now and we're happy with it. And we're looking to go with the enterprise plan

We just have few clarifications for this.

1. Why do we need 3CX partners to buy 3CX plans
2. About sim. calls

A. since we will set up 2 instance of 3CX (local and cloud), will the sim. call between the bridge counted in the license?
B. If we make calls from our local to outside numbers via the bridge, what's the sim. count?

1. Buying 3CX through a partner is an introduction. It doesn't cost you anything extra and you don't have to even talk to the partner if you don't want to but they are there if you need something. Partners are also often the ones providing support on the forums, as I am now for your questions.
2. Calls across bridges would count as two calls, one on each side.

Another thing,
about recording. I'm researching about the recordings like, storing them directly in a different location such as dropbox, is it possible.
And for Analog gateway, can we add an analog gateway from our office directly to the 3CX cloud ?
some says it's possible with vpn

Recordings can only be stored in a local path directly accessible by 3CX. That being said, there's nothing stopping you from using some mechanism to get those files to another storage location by copying, or some other method of presenting cloud-based storage as local storage.

(Edit: In another post @JCubio mentioned Remote Archiving which I had forgotten was added. So yes 3CX can automatically copy recordings to Google Drive directly or via FTP but any other storage would have to accessed outside of 3CX)

Officially, analog gateways are only supported locally, which means the same subnet as 3CX or directly routable without NAT (such as a VPN). There are some here you say they've setup gateways via STUN or SBC but try to avoid setting up unsupported configurations for customers. That being said there was some mention of gateways being supported via SBC in the future.

Possible yes, supported, no. A supported configuration at this time would be via VPN. It may be supported in the future via SBC

Any Layer2 VPN will allow to use any "local" device with 3CX... as the device is unaware that it is not on the same LAN.

What I'm saying is, if you have a Site2Site VPN between 3CX network and the network with the gateway, any recommended 3CX gateway should work and be supported.
