Version 20.0 Update 9 (Build 995 Release - AI 1.4.48)

Hi all

Bit of a strange one.. wondering if anyone else is affected.

i've got a small set up with several T23G handsets and a few T46S and U's.

every so often the T23Gs will stop working, PCs on them lose internet and the phones get "Obtaining IP".

The T46 phones stay up.

They show as connected in 3CX but cannot ping or get on the GUI.

I've restarted the PoE switch, phone, DHCP service, unplugged the PC and they dont come back on.

The phones are on 44.84.0.140 and a few on .180.

after about 45 mins the phones came back up and could access them again..

No server of 3CX backups are running and AFAIK nothing on the network has changed.

This installation has been around for years with the same kit and has only become a problem in recent weeks.

Hi,

I have noticed PoE modules tend to stop working on some older Yealinks, so try switching them to a wall plug adapter.

Or perhaps it's time to retire them, these phone models are like 12 years old now and have reached end of life a good 5 years ago. They've had a good run :)

Hi John,

after spending some time onsite yesterday troubleshooting everything, I came to the conclusion that most (if not all) of the 23gs were FUBAR and due to replace them today.

Good idea, especially since they no longer receive security updates.

I think you'll find good replacements in the T3 series if you want some reliable entry level replacements for the T23G

Issue came back.

Replaced all the switches with a new one and the problem has gone away.
