It would be great if it were possible to directly transfer a voicemail from the app (web app, windows app, mobile app) instead of using the old fashion call-based voicemail management. 3CX already supports the ability to view, listen, mark as read/unread, and delete voicemails directly from within apps. But, if a user listens to a voicemail from the app, there is no way to transfer to the correct extension without calling the voicemail system, going through the cumbersome voicemail menu and prompts, then transferring the voicemail. This is particularly painful for reception roles because they get a lot of voicemails that simply need re-direction. The voicemail option from the webapp becomes effectively useless for such users and they spend way too much time listening to voicemails the old-fashioned way because of the design of the call-based voicemail management system.

I would encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. We provide a simple web interface your receptionist can use to view voicemails and forward them to the correct colleague. Further, we provide the ability to add an introduction to the start of the voicemail. This tool does a lot more (archival, enhanced group voicemail, and more). This tool will make your current complex process ultra simple.

Well there you go. There must be a lot of people that see this as a significant shortcoming of the voicemail system if an entire thrid-party business is built around fixing it. If that isn't the strongest possible evidence that 3CX needs to give this suggestion attention, I don't know what is.

Thanks. I just up voted your feature request. Your suggestion for the prepend message has been supported in the VOIP voicemail system I used over 10 years ago. 3cx is really behind the times on this one.
Man, I really miss the 3COM days too (just a wild guess as to what system you are referring too).

Lol. No. But, You wouldn’t have guessed. I was using Zultys way back then. Zultys automated prompts to listen/interact with a VM was also better.

Ah, I ran into Zulty's at a prospect (they were a bank) a while back. Not a bad system.

They did not replace with 3CX in the end due to various limits, so I hear you...

Zultys was an awesome platform for it's day, but admittedly I've not looked at them for more than a decade. I had one of their appliances catch fire in my hosting facility and that was the end of Zultys for us :)

Does anyone know if 3CX is actually looking at the feature to be able to transfer a voicemail directly from within the softphone app? I have read multiple threads on people asking for this feature, some are very old. Just curious if anyone knows if this is actually going to get fixed?

Best is to upvote the feature request above.

Yeah, it has been upvoted by myself and many other people on various threads with what appears to be not much of a reply or success....which is why I was asking again if anyone actually knows if this is being considered. Thanks Steve

Sorry, specifically to answer your question I haven't heard anything. Maybe others have. From time to time 3CX will post something about upcoming features like https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v20-roadmap/ from September but they aren't usually that specific/minute in detail.
