Truncate FQDN Name

Hello, I saw previous threads but none are open to new replies. I have purchased an enterprise key and installed this via Amazon cloud.

However, I stupidly used my long hyphenated biz name for the FQDN and want to truncate it to just the first word.

I am still waiting for the SIP line to install and therefore have no functionality from the 3CX yet.

Now is probably the time to shorten the FQDN name before provisioning of physical phones (very soon). Please advise if there is a shortcut to do this. I could not duplicate the steps to uninstall and release the bound FQDN...? Thanks.

Hi perhaps i'm wrong , but it seems to me FQDN can't be changed once installed, so you should need to

1. backup config without FQDN
2. release FQDN in portal partner
3. reinstall from scratch and restore backup during install
4. select a new FQDN to associate to the 3CX key
5. wait a little as DNS propagate new FQDN

As above, you will have to reinstall after releasing the FQDN from the customer portal. Your backup should not contain the key/FQDN either, so that the PBX configuration wizard can ask you to pick a new one next time round.

Hello, I actually don't need to bother backing up, since I haven't configured anything while waiting for the SIP to be installed.

However, I can't seem to find any reference to exactly how 3CX is uninstalled from AWS. Please suggest some links to show how. Thanks.

Why not simply delete the VM and start over?
