trunk between 3cx and asterisk

My brother has an Asterisk system, I'm using 3cx and we'd be interested in trying this out just so we can can make internal calls
I've seen documentation on how to do this between asterisk servers. And it looks pretty straight forward (between those two systems).

However the voip provider xml templates in 3cx are more complicated and I'm not sure which options from the asterisk examples map to which xml tags. Has anyone done this before if so, are you willing to share your template?

I would try using a Bridge trunk between the two. If you set 3CX as the master then the other PBX can register with it as with a VoIP provider.
