HI, I am doing a trunk-to-trunk integration with a service that my client needs to use, but the provider of that service tells me the following:

For incoming calls, please note that the numbers belong to your telephony system, not to our trunk.
Our SIP trunk (IP: xx.xx.xxx.x) is only a connection point between your 3CX and our platform. It doesn't host or own any phone numbers.

So, when someone calls your number (e.g. +525512345678), the call first reaches your telephony provider / 3CX.
You then need to configure your 3CX to forward that call to our SIP trunk.
If this routing isn’t configured, our platform will never receive the incoming call.

My question is, how can I forward my trunk number based on username and password to the provider's IP if it doesn't have a number, only an IP?

The same thing happens if you want to generate a call from your platform through my platform:

For outgoing calls, we're sending the SIP INVITE to your 3CX with the correct credentials, but your 3CX replies “403 Forbidden.”
That means your 3CX is rejecting the authentication request.
Please verify that the trunk on your 3CX is configured to accept username/password authentication (not IP-based).

Obviously, my trunk is based on username and password without IP authentication. Is this configuration possible with that provider, at least according to what it is requesting from me in the settings?

Best regards

Hello Edgar_C,

Being Dutch, I can't make any cheese out of this :)

Is the configuration type A, B or C
A) IP Phone - 3CX with trunk 2 trunk - Other PBX - SIP Trunk to public -> making outbound calls
B) Phone - other PBX with trunk 2 trunk - 3CX - SIP Trunk to public -> making outbound calls
C) Define your config

You need to better explain the call flow, (perhaps with diagrams). How is 3CX involved, simply to forward calls?
Is there another VoIP provider connected to 3CX?
Does that trunk only serve inbound calls?
Is this "platform" a private system, or one that any company can utilize?
If it is available to anyone, then who are they? Perhaps another 3CX user also makes use of their services.
