Two seperate site with its own 3cx server locally.

Is it possible to have two 3cx server at differnet location to talk to each other. Like calling their extension? I can setup site to site VPN if that help? I don't see this is possible unless I combine both of them into one. Maybe I'm wrong. Please advise if this is possible.

Yes its possible, you will need the PRO or ENT version of 3CX.
No need for VPN as they will create a tunnel between the two.

If its the same company you could always put 3CX in the cloud have have an SBC at each site and acheive the same outcome at a lesser cost.

lt will depend on what your definition of "talk to each other" is. Is there anything you plan on implementing, besides simple phone calls? Any, more advanced, calling features (shared queues?) may determine whether one, or two PBXs would be the best option for you.

How many phones at each site are we talking about ?

Client wanted inhouse 3cx server. So they are paying for two PRO license . So hosting the 3cx serve rin the cloud will not be an option.
Option 1 is not an option
Option 2 is what i proposal but what if the main site goes down, the other site will not have phone. That is not a good solution. I want it so if at any given site goes down, their phone at one location still working.

No advance calling feature, they just want to call from extension to extension. That is what they will be using. Thank you

I'll look at the 3cx briding. as that is what i needed i think. Currently they one 3cx server at both location with the PRO license. brideing seem like the way to go. thank you!!

If the two locatons are in different countries/regions, then you have to consider outbound calls. Two PBXs allow each to have their own outbound trunks/numbers.

Why do I need a SBC at each site if i'm hosting it in the cloud? The cloud will allow both remote site to connect using the STUN public IP address. Please explain why I need a SBC at each site? Currently I have customer in the cloud, they just plug in their phone into their network and as long as they have internet access the phone just register and work.

Please let me know if this is the wrong way to set this up.

I see. if its overloaded there will be an issues with the STUN configuration. Currently each site only have 5 users. So with this setup STUN is good choice? SBC. So you saying I have to install the 3cx SBC at each remote location. I still don't get the benefit of installing the 3cx SBC. 1, need a computer to install the SBC. 2. Installing the SBC. how does it make the remote location reliable? it still need to access the 3cx cloud server to retrieve stuff and make calls. So its still going out the internet. Know what i mean?

The SBC allows calls between extensions to stay on the local LAN. With only 5 sets you may not have any issues, but, that can depend on the router, and other factors. You may have to do some port forwarding and assign unique, local ports, to each set. You can use an inexpensive Raspberry Pi as the SBC.

As leejor said - SBC mitigates the need for any network configuration changes you need to make should you encounter problems as a result of your STUN set up. I have a few customers set up in STUN and have no problems. However, when problems start happening (audio issues and such) then you've got to troubleshoot, set static IPs, port forwarding (especially when you dont manage the network) it can become more hassle then its worth. the SBC with provide your phones a gateway to tunnel traffic to 3CX to overcome issues.
