Hi, I'm trying to use the tunnel to connect (remotely) to my 3cx server, however, although the tunnel connects, the client doesn't actually connect, it just says that the server is unreachable. Could somebody please clarify what this actually means? ...because the server obviously IS reachable if the tunnel is connecting. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems logical)

I've tried both the V6 and the V7 clients, connecting directly works, but for some authentication problems, which is my next question. Clients work fine internally, except for some 1-sided audio (but I'm putting that down to Vista so far), but when I connect direct from externally, it DOES connect, but does not allow me to make any calls, either "internally" or to an outside line, it just says forbidden. I'm guessing it's an issue with my IP address setup, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it?

And finally, as a side-question, what does "Too many contacts" really mean? :?

Thanks in advance!
BM

Thank you very much Vali.

Derrick, can you send your tunnel.ini ?

Regards

Aesteve,

Do you mean 3CXtunnel.ini under \Program Files? I do not think it's tunnel configure issue because tunnel always connected ok.

Here is the Voipclient.log for v7 on XP/sp3.

Hi Derrick

What i said is the 3cxtunnel.ini, not the log, because in my case under Vista the tunnel also connect but not works. In this file is the tunnel configuration.

This log is under Vista or Xp ?

Regards.

Aesteve,

I have sent you the 3cxtunnel.ini via PM, please review.

Both log and ini are from XP/sp3 machine.

Thanks,

Derrick

Hi Derrick,

can you send me a screenshot of the following labs ?

In Out of office ( tunnel ) properties conexion :

1.- Ports
2.- General
3.- Tunnel

Thanks.

Aesteve,

Thank you very much for your help.

Can I email it to you?

Thanks,

You need to use a v7 client with a v7 server.

Hello Nick,

I have the Version 6 of the 3CX client under Windows Vista and the Version 7 in the PBX and works fine via tunnel. With version 7 of the client under Windows Vista, the tunnel doesn´t works.

Regards.

Hello Derrick,

Try to put in " use tunnel of host " the internal IP of the machine. Not the localhost 127.0.0.1.

I want to see the general lab too. It isn´t in the mail.

Regards.

It must be some thing different between V6 and V7 or new 3CX phone. Like I said before, I am using same Extension, ID, Password and Tunnel password on V6 client which always works.

I must be missed some thing. I have tried the tunnel seeting in office or out of office on six different computer include XP and Vista, I can not make any V7 client or new 3CX phone to work. I have 3cx PBX v7 and I have changed default tunnel passwword.

Try to put in " use tunnel of host " the internal IP of the machine. Not the localhost 127.0.0.1.

This seems to be what did the trick for me. But, since the remote machine has a dynamic ip, it is somewhat painful to expect a remote user to do an ipconfig everytime. Any reason that it has to be this way? And... why not prepopulate that text field (or provide a combobox) with the IP address(es) on the NIC?

I resolve the problems with this beta.

Hi, Alejandro

We just released today the Beta version of the 3CX VoIP Client - http://www.3cx.com/forums/new-3cx-softphone-beta-with-integrated-tunnel-8562.html
Please try it on the configurations you have and check if it has the same issuses.
Since it doesnt' conflict with V7 or V6 in any way, you may install it next to them, there is no need to uninstall or stop them.

My problem solved.

See following for detail.

we must use tunnel without stun. Only the tunnel configuration with the Ip of the remote machine and the Ip of the PBX. 8)
