Solved Unable to install 3CX on Hyper V

Hi all,

Trying to install 3CX on my Hyper V host, but I get an error message part way through the installer:

"An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again from the menu , or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: Select and install software."




I went through the syslog and found the following error:

" WARINING ** Configuring 'pkgsel' failed with error code 100.
"WARNING ** Menu item 'pkgsel' failed. "



Any advice on how I can proceed with this install and get it going?

Yes, I have followed the guide, and I am using a 3CX ISO.

I am able to ping across the internet, so there should be no issue with internet access. I've noticed that it fails at 10% every time. Tried with a freshly downloaded ISO and an older ISO file that I found on one of my servers.

- How much disk space are you allocating to your VM?
- How much RAM have you allocated?
- How many CPUs have you allocated to the machine?

I get this problem when I misconfigure the network. Check your DNS is set to Google also.

Turns out it was my firewall. Our HTTP proxy was blocking some part of the install process.
