Zammad is quite easy to install yourself on an instance. You can download it free and run it on Digital Ocean or Vultr for basically $5 a month depending on how many users you have.

I'd be happy to offer some suggestions as we host a lot of integrations for our customers. Personally, I'd go the "hosting" pricing model (as an addon) but still built into the system. Similar to license features.

Our team love old app and use with v18 without issue.

Yes, the legacy client does work on v18. But I would encourage you to move to the new DesktopApp whenever you can because the old client won't be getting any new features and some, like WebMeeting (on v18) and SMS, are not supported on it.

Thanks @Nick Galea - I installed it on a Debian instance. As you say quite easy.

You can use it as long as you like. We are no longer updating it. The deskphone integration (i.e. deskphone control) will probably not work that well at some point as its not based on CSTA.

That said i do believe that our PWA webclient is going to do most of what you need and be more modern in the long term.

QEMU is not a tested/supported virtualization environment currently. The list of supported ones are listed in the following link and for which we do have the guest agent packages available in our repo:

That argumentation seems odd, as KVM is the kernel-based virtual machine - the kernel-side part - while QEMU or qemu-kvm are the userspace tools. As per the KVM project themselves: https://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Downloads

The advantage of having the guest agent is definitely not just about obtaining some guest information on the host side, but also to exchange data or have direct way of rebooting or stopping a guest (not only relying on the ACPI commands).

+2 for official QEMU support. We are running 3CX for a secondary site on a Scale Computing cluster which is built on KVM and it's been running fine. We are replacing our VMware infrastructure with another Scale cluster this summer, and so will be migrating our second 3CX instance to that platform as well.

This came up for us a year or more ago. I had suggested 3CX detail which "types" of KVM are/are not supported on their requirements page but it still only says "KVM 2.8 and up" implying all are fine. Which seems a bit misleading/confusing/dangerous if one later finds out some types of KVM are actually not supported.

If you're on V18 already, it takes a couple minutes (yes the system is offline during that time.)

If you're on V16u8a and need to upgrade the OS as well, that takes between 15 and 60min (60 is usually on Raspberry Pi, more like 20-25min on a descent machine.)

If you are on debian you can upgrade from v16 to v18 with 1 button click (so basically unattended)
If on windows it's a bit more involved.

yes me too, i don't have spare PC at home and my little Pi is enough for home use with a few IP phones.
