Improvements to the Web Client greatly simplify call handling, ideal for busy receptionists. We’ve also handed over status control to the User to set up their own personal schedules. All this and more, with Update 4 Beta out now.

More visibility with the new receptionist view

It’s now easier than ever for receptionists to h...

Hi,
nice to see another beautiful release with some interesting new features.
Will you implement "office settings" for dedicated, which we have now on StartUp?
This would make it way easier to enable customers to be more flexible without giving them access to the MMC, or without building workarounds with dummy extensions e.g. for editing simple call flows, setting up extensions, or even edit office hours.
The way we can do it with startup is way more intuitive for the user, who wants to have more manual control.

@Nick W - yes for update 4 and onwards you need to use the new plugin.
@ITMoped - yes actually update 4 has it already you just have to enable a parameter. But we have not tested it yet extensively so its not available yet. We will be working on this. At this point the startup mode blocks calling between groups but we are working to switch this off.

Can you just hurry up and release it please to fix the live chat mess you've made with the WordPress plug in.

Edit: That new status scheduler looks awesome though! Going to be great for customers who don't utilise O365 calendar integration, but just want basic schedules.

Lets not hurry anything! :)

Test, test and test....

Looking good, install on our system now...
Any updates on multi tenancy or multiple clients on one system?

Looks like it looses the existing chat settings and puts that in the Facebook chat accidentally.

No? Mine didn't? We still have both our Facebook entry, SMS and the original Live Chat. The new section is just empty for us at the moment.

The auto-switch configuration setting has been moved from the management console to the Web Client & Desktop App.
I'm hoping this is not removed from the management console, but copied to the Web Client & Desktop App, so that it will be available in all 3 places...

It has been MOVED -_- So did the Exceptions...

GUYS WE NEED THOSE IN THE ADMIN TOO!

See Nick's reply.
That was regarding office settings in the webclient/app.

I'm talking about having multiple clients on one 3cx system. This is a game changer.

This is from the startup posts and this is Nick's reply.

@xxxx You can do exactly that. Its a manual process that way but you can absolutely do it. You can also easily do different office hours per group etc.

Basically, in a nutshell, this version has supercharged groups with many more features and you can configure them to not see each other. Thats how it works. Groups now have their own group phonebook, office hours even a mini IVR which has inbuilt time based routing features. Then as admin or reseller you can have management console access and not give it to any of the groups basically. You can set time zones per group now as well, lots of other things that make it easy to host multiple companies

@tronic - yes the startup mode is going to become public probably update 5. Its there already just needs a little more testing. I will get the parameter for you to enable it and look at it

Auto switch has to be configured from the office settings pages, but in the new update you will be able to enable the manager setting for group managers so you can delegate this to department heads.

We are not going to copy all settings to the management console, this will become more like a system admin console.....

Nice job. Will the Rest API be released when Update 4 is officially released?

We use the "Exceptions" feature heavily with dummy extensions to create custom routing based on custom timeframes (other than in/out of office times). As tought in the 3CX intermediate course and based on feedback on these forums.

Moving the configuration of these exceptions to the webclient of a dummy extension makes no sense.
Please keep it also available in the managament console.

Cool guys!

Receptionist View is very important. Will you also add drag&drop to this view?
@Nick Galea
This is the only feature keeping some Users to the old windows client…

@58voip - no, startup mode is not available yet in update 4
@alainarnold - not sure yet about drag and drop, for now it will not be there.....
@Danvarii You will be able to configure office times per group/department so things will change quite a bit in that area. Configurable from within the webclient, and group admins can do it for all extensions.

In 3cx it doesn't have features like head-secretary, we use the exceptions to make this configuration, where only the secretary can call the manager or director's extension, leaving it in the hands of the user makes no sense. Please return this to the admin console.
