Update 4 Final: Affordable Call Transcription with 3CX AI

I have Pro and just updated. Where is the free voicemail transcription settings? I know Open AI is gone, but my only option is Transcription is Google.
in Pro you can transcribe voice mail with Google, you have to pay Google for the service. In enterprise 3Cx will transcribe your voice mails free of charge or you can ask OpenAI to do it and then you have to pay OpenAI for it

I've upgraded to update 4 and set 3CX as the transcription engine, however it only does transcription - no summary or sentiment yet? I thought that was all in this update?

Thank You. I misunderstood the update page then. The 2nd second should reference enterprise only. "Free voicemail transcription will also be made available in this update."

We dont have any plans to update the CFD quite honestly. We are going to invest in the call flow scripts - more samples and hopefully in time we might try to use AI to make it easier to create more scripts.

Using the web api in update 4 you can already integrate openAI quite easily. We can definitely provide some samples for that - maybe one that answers a call and responds in voice....
Ok, CFD was a good GUI. Rest in Peace.

We have some cases where we're using it for SQL request/API Calls/Text To Speech, etc.
Now, we have to use Call Flow Scripts, if i understand properly. Is a complete documentation available ?
This one : https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/call-processing-script/#h.8y23ok5ha0ym Do not seem complete.

Could you guys release the last versions of CFD and CRM integration designer apps? The ones that we can get through tickets only. They fix the issues with v20 new processing. Maybe mark it as "last version ever" or something like that.

There's a lot of threads in the CFD section about that lol

Wondering why OpenAI is removed as a transcription option in PRO?
I know you are adding a 3cx transcription, and there is a Google option, but we are happy with OpenAI.

I wish the post on the new update was clearer in regard to Open AI being completely removed and what was meant by "free voicemail transcription". We have been using OpenAI for a couple months and we were at maybe 20-25 cents a week, almost nothing, and loved the quality of what was being transcribed. I went ahead and updated our v20 thinking "oh, free transcription....I'll just use what 3CX is offering and not need the Open AI anymore".

Now we are back to ONLY being able to use Google. Google has been OK for us for a few years, not as good as Open AI, but since moving to v20, if we want to have scheduled backups enabled AND have Google's API for transcription on, the backups go to the Google bucket online...why? Why can't Google be enabled for API and scheduled backups still save to local location?

I can fully understand the 3CX Transcription being on Enterprise... but OpenAI too.. Really???

The quality of OpenAI over Google is so much better. And its not like its costing 3CX to have the option there...

Agree, would also like to get the last version that had some fixes for datetime components?

I know, but no more update, we all know what that means with software companies :D

To obtain a complete documentation or samples, we have to contact the support team ?

@Nico.K - I am not sure I completely understood your request but... Each script is available from the store and the documentation is on the blog. There is no development support on the scripts I am afraid...

yes you can create the script with the CFD it creates basically a call flow script. No updates needed.....

Just to add a few details on what Nick mentions, when you use the CFD to create an app and build it, the generated ZIP file contains a C# file inside, and the WAV files needed by the app. You can create a Call Flow Script in 3CX, upload the WAV files, and copy/paste the C# code, that's what the 3CX console is doing. Then you continue editing the C# code as needed.

You can also use the CFD to learn how to create code that uses TTS or speech recognition, and then you can follow the same line. There is a library named CallFlow.CFD.dll which includes most of the logic you need to run TTS or speech recognition, you don't need to do everything from scratch.

Hi,

You just talked about samples some posts before when i was talking about 3CX or Open AI Transcript in Call flow script. So I was only asking if we have to get it via support.

And i've not find a complete documentation for the Call script, and API request (control or conf). The last time i've asked to the community, answer was : "reverse engineering it". I must missing something.

I understand, that we have to search and learn, to use call flow app now. But the CFD was a very good tool for tech teams without great C# skills. That's all.

I have just tried the 3CX transcription feature on 3CX V20 ENT 32SC. I'm only interested in getting the voicemails transcribed for this customer, full call transcription will cause regulatory issues in their industry. My issue is that short voicemails aren't transcribed. If I leave a message like "it's Chris, call me back" OpenAI will transcribe the voicemail and it will appear on the email notification but the 3CX transcription will read "Recording is too short, cannot transcribe."

Update: I was able to roll back to update 3 with an APT command in the host OS, OpenAI transcription restored!
I'm sure this is something that is not recommended but it worked for me and I haven't seen any ill effects.
Will you point me to the information for this roll back, please? Thank you.

as always since years:
apt remove 3cxpbx
apt -y install 3cxpbx=20.0.3.806

highly not recommended and not supported

I just upgraded from PRO to ENT but I don't see an option to choose 3CX AI or OpenAI. Only Google is listed in the drop down. I'm running Version 20.0 Update 4 (Build 487 Release). Any ideas why?

You might have to do a license refresh, what does it show on the dashboard?
