3CX V20 Update 5 makes it to Release Candidate.

Following the ALPHA, BETA 1 and BETA 2 releases of V20 Update 5, the Release Candidate is now available. Here’s what’s included.

What’s New

Update 5 RC brings key fixes and improvements:
  • QR code setup for mobile apps when using the desktop app ...

How do you get the release candidate version. I am on hosted by 3cx v20 upgrade 4. On updates screen it only lists the alpha version of update 5??

You must upgrade through the versions until you get to RC.

Are you going to support RPS for Yealink DECT and direct connection without the need for an SBC?

A customer with 20 branches all over the country with one Yealink W70B each need manually configuring and setting via STUN as they do not have another phone to use as an SBC and its a bit silly to have a Pi etc on site for one phone.

Having to connect DECT phones as generic SIP devices is a real pain as you cannot set them to connect directly. Take a look at the Yealink AX83H phone. It is a WiFi Phone and has 3CX SBC built-into the firmware. As a single cordless phone at a site it's cheaper than a base+phone kit.

Hi 3CX team,
I downloaded the 3CX Linux .iso file. When I install it, it seems to be the 20.0.4.487 version

The installer will always reflect the latest STABLE version. Update 5 is currently in Release CANDIDATE phase. So this is to be expected.

The AX83H looks really nice, feels good (no sharp edges on the case) and the microphone is well decoupled from the housing - unfortunately it doesn't have BLF buttons like the Fanvil, which is a shame :(

We really hope that this will be added at some point.

You can do it already but you have to make it into a custom template and support it yourself.

May I mention that the way this has been announced, it is expected that the "Download the 3CX ISO" link refers to the new Update 5 RC. In any case, it is quite confusing

Hello,

Found that on Version 20.0 Update 5 (Build 538 Beta), that visability has changed.

Test -> Clean system 1 new department, 2 new users
Both users in the new department, being the only department no other department set with these extensions.
The department has Publish to all extension set to OFF.
Both extensions have set the View options off (ALL tick-boxes), set to OFF.

No visability should be there, as all is set to OFF.
Open the 'Team' view, and the extensions can see the whole department (both extensions).

Tested this in update 4, this was not the case, from update 5 only.

EDIT: found some configuration error, not the update !

Paulo.

I am not able to test the update on a professional license, what's the current status on the configuration API?
does it still says it's for enterprise only?
I'm asking because of this post
Just wanted to make sure if the configuration API will be an enterprise only feature or not

So what happens with version 20.0.5.551 (released tuesday) - will it be announced yet? Is this the 3CX v20u5 final?

"When will then be now?
Soon.
How soon?"
;)

Well, it's not that we can't wait for the u5 ;)

The problem is a different one: the systems that are set to automatic update are now being updated from a 3CX v20u4 final to an unknown, undocumented 3CX v20 u5 build 551.

Without any information from the manufacturer after more than 2 days, bad words like supply chain attack come to mind.

The simplest explanation would be that one of the gentlemen Borg became ill before writing. But we don't know that.
