We love the addition of the router phone and with dect coming in U7 it's a good seamless solution for remote small offices.

Re install means choosing the new options as above. yes its a lot of work to maintain all the APIs for different hosters. First hosted option should be 3CX hosted (based on digital ocean, and we are providing almost at cost), then if there is a good reason Digital Ocean direct. Larger customers want to maintain themselves we understand in Azure, Google or Amazon AWS. Lightsail does not support amazon marketplace for some reason, but why choose amazon lightsail and not 3CX hosted? for same price we manage instance and monitor 24/7.

Yes Debian ISO is available and Windows.exe of course - this is the on premise/self hosted/DIY image which as we said is not going away.

No AWS Lightsail support is a step backwards, we just moved our clients from EC2 because billing is a headache but simple with Lightsail and “managed” DigitalOcean isn’t something we ever wish to deploy or would want to add as yet another hosting platform nor migrate everything back to EC2’s… in all the time we’ve deployed to AWS Lightsail and our time with 3CX we’ve never needed to raise a support ticket so can’t see the support overhead when responsible partners handle that (including backups to GCP).

The initial experience of 3CX hosted on under powered instances lead us to get calls from customer complaining.

Can’t imagine the headache a nearby Platinum partner will face having to migrate all their instances from OVH.

As i said the over head is in creating a custom deployment for Lightsail because it does not support the marketplace. Its not about support tickets. You can leave all your instances on Lightsail no problem and even upload the custom ISO and keep using Lightsail that way.

Initial 3CX free instances we're underpowered but with our commercial offering you get 2 gig ram, 2 cores and this is not underpowered at all.

OVH have a marketplace and our image will be uploaded there.

Great news for the SBC support with SNOM D862, D865 and DECT support behind SBC phone. Routers Phones are very appreciated by resellers and it’s THE KEY for all new install. However we keep on selling SBC and IPBX running on dedicated PC but as now all PC manufacturer’s deliver 2.5 Gbits ethernet interface instead of 1Gbits, we can not install SBC ISO as it run with Debian 10.11 (4.19) witch do not support those kind of Chipset. Do you plan to integrate INTEL 225 driver on the ISO or do you plan to move to 5.x Kernel ?

Back when we were still using SBC's, I would run

wget https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/sbc/3cxsbc.zip -O- | sudo bash

on a clean Debian 11 (kernel 5.x) and it worked great. I think that still works, it may not exactly be supported, but may work for you until the the official ISO is updated to Debian 11.

we run a number of clients on static IP delivered calls vs sip registration, we also self host in google cloud. if i'm reading that SP7 info correctly, static IP delivery of calls won't work with SP7 even though we're hosting the systems ourselves with full control of the firewall rules? just wanted to check if we need to start moving customers to registered trunks or not. thanks!

I don't think you have to worry about calls from SIP Trunk to 3CX Dedicated at this time, but I could be misreading it. This is more from 3CX PBX to Endpoints (IP phones, etc) and secure provisioning (manual provisioning via IP should still be possible).

Same, can the existing restore options be left in place for light sail so long as they work.

@Nicolas1 We will be moving to Debian 11 just after update 8/9. So hang in there just a few months more.
@network51 - No you are fine with IP based trunks. Just in case of IP change you have to update the config of course that is why we prefer register based but actually even on 3CX Hosted you can use IP based if you want to.
@nathan0707 - Do you mean restore from backup on a Windows install or iSO or marketplace image? If yes this will remain there of course.

I am asking if you can leave the lightsail wizard available as long as it is working. Basically when we need todo a restore this wizard makes it very easy and gives us the option to maintain the public IP of the pbx that’s whitelisted with the provider. This will not be possible when restoring a previous lightsail instance to EC2.

Sorry if this has been discussed before... but how come we can only add one phone to an extension in the webclient admin?

Happily admit it's not very common for us to do so, but the use case I had today was swapping from a normal phone to SBC phone. I would prefer to pre-configure my SBC phone and then remove the original phone after install. Not a big deal, just wondering if I'm missing something.
