The update is failing, I see many posts on this issue. Most end up reinstalling the server. Question if I reinstall using the latest build on AWS market place will the backup from the old version be successful? Running on version 9.6

Is there a way to correct the issue with the update without a reinstall?

**Another issue with the phone system is if you create a new extension the new extension can't be called but the extension can call outbound. No ext to ext calls. Fast busy and hangs up.

Here's the error log:

Redeploying from the market place will deploy a Debian 10 machine with V18. To restore a 3CX v16 backup on it, it'll have to be 3CX v16.0.8.9 so do not attempt this with16.0.6.655.

I recommend you look into this if it persists after upgrading.

Thanks, I will give it a shot tomorrow morning and report back. I hope to have all of our systems on v 18 by the end of January.

Excellent! Let me know if you have any issues with it.

Sorry, lots of issues lately. The KB fixed the update issue and the server is now on 16 sp 8.

Now, what do we do about the new extension not being able to be called or call extension to extension?

Since the title and the majority of this thread's contents is related to the upgrade issue, if you would, please start a new thread regarding the new extensions not being able to make calls so that we can take a closer look at this.

Before starting a new thread, please try:

1. Create a new extension and access it's webclient, from there dial *777 for an echo test, see if it works.
2. Then dial *888. This call will end immediately and then the extension should receive a call (within 2-3 seconds) which if you answer is again an echo test.
3. Go into Settings >> Network >> FQDN:
Make sure that both fields 1 & 2 contain the FQDN, click on OK and try again

I'll be marking this thread as solved but please do provide info on the above should you need to start a new thread regarding this problem.
