Updating License Key

Hello Everyone,

I have recently purchased a new license key as our old one is coming up for renewal, however when I try to change the license key I get the following error: A networking problem has occurred while activating your license key. (Error code: 401).

I am running 3cx 15.5.15502 (I don't want to upgrade)
Have tried rebooting server, checking DNS details, disabling firewall and still the same issue.

Anyone who knows how to fix this - your help would be greatly appreciated!

The fix is to upgrade. New keys are only valid for v16.

Also next time extend your existing license key. There is no need for a new key.

Hi Shane,

If you recently bought a new key (instead of renewing the existing one) then it would have been issued strictly as a V16 key.

Those cannot be downgraded to run on V15.5SP6 so an upgrade will be necessary in this case.

You can backup your existing system (minus the key) and restore the backup on a fresh install using V16.
Once you provide the backup (minus the key) the installation wizard will ask for a key, and there you can enter the new one.
