I need upgrade a 3CX V10 to V16
In order to do this i understand that i will have to upgrade to V14 or V15 first then from that to V16
Where do i get earlier version installers to do the upgrade

Hi Philip

V10 is so old now that the hassle of converting (with any errors that may be introduced) will probably cost you more time and effort that doing a fresh V16 installation.

Also, you may need to first check whether the phone models used are compatible with a modern 3CX system: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

If you have any V16 questions before proceeding, we will be glad to assist

Thanks for your quick reply. The system in question has 30 extensions but is a simple setup and has been running without fault for 8 years and the customer was reluctant to change anything as it was just working very well. I would like to try and upgrade if possible in the first instance. Where can i download older installers from?

Export your extensions to a CSV file, build a new v16 3CX, modify the CSV to support v16 and import the extensions to v16. I would make a new VM, pc or cloud to run your v16 since whatever OS is running v10 is likely not supported with v16 anyway.

You can export the digital receptionist audio files, even extension voicemail recordings.

What model phones are they and are you using sip trunks or also any analog gateways?

Where can you export the extensions on a Ver10 system. There only seems to be an import?

If it existed in v10 it would be near the import function. I've been using 3CX since v8, but I don't recall when export was added. You can send a screen shot if you like of the extensions page top menu.

Trust us, it is not worth the effort for a 30-extension system. Start from scratch. Your system will be cleaner. The only disadvantage is that you will lose history.

+1 start from scratch, you might think you are saving yourself time by upgrading what you have already....you are wrong! Rebuild the new one side by side if needed, even that will be quicker, cleaner, and safer.

Thanks everyone. I am getting the message loud and clear build from scratch anew.
I was thinking then I should build it in the 3CX cloud and then move it to Amazon Lightsail.
30 Extension system with very light usage and very simple setup.

Hi Philip,

That's a good idea, and will give you the chance to familiarize your self with V16 and runs some tests using 1-2 phones so as not to disrupt the rest of the users.

If you want, share what models of phones/gateways you plan on using so we can see if they are compatible.
