Good Morning ,

Just upgraded to 16 beta 3 and found this error on my Grandstream 1782
Not supported 1.0.1.81 ( currently running firmware on my 1782 telephone ) Red letters in my phone tab ..

Is there a newer firmware as the Grandstream site does not post one .

3cx Code : 16.0.3.525

Thx

Hi Richard,

If this is your production system we recommend you revert back to SP2, the Alpha is not meant for production and you may encounter such things.

This is to be expected. Certain firmware levels are tested against certain versions of 3CX. You upgrade 3CX then you may also be required to upgrade firmware.

Why you are checking Grandstreams website when 3CX is saying you need a firmware update is beyond me. 3CX controls what firmware versions they support and they distribute them, not Grandstream. Often they use the publicly available versions but sometimes there are 3CX specific versions which are only given to 3CX and distributed from via the update mechanism in the management console. If you are getting that message then you should see an update to download a new firmware from inside 3CX.

Beyond you ? Hmmm .. Its very simple ..

If Grandstream came out with another firmware update for the telephone , Then I would want to have it prior to going back to 3CX as maybe they already knew what the issue or maybe the latest formware , if there was one resolved the issue !

Hi John

Its my office but only 4 phones currently on this system !
It seems to work as I made calls this am but in 3cx it states in wonderful red letters " 1.0.1.81 not supported "

Running the following telephones :

1. 1782 grandstream
3 soft telephones , which have their own issue now as I cannot start the app after upgrading to IOS 12.4 so its a wonderful week ..

If you are going to install a Beta... I would first, clone the hard-drive, install the upgrade on the original (or the clone), then if there are issues that you can't live with, swap hard-drives.

Hi Leejor

Good point ! I made a back up and have other PC's here if necessary !
I am getting used to 3CX Beta etc. !!

Still waiting for an answer as to how to fix my I Phone ( 12.4 and it won't load ) as I love using the app ! I use it every day and got used to it !

Thx for reaching out !

You seem to be missing the point. It's 3CX that decides if the firmware is not matching the current version of 3CX not Grandstream. And in some cases, the firmware is ONLY available from 3CX via the management console or their firmware download page, not Grandstream. Now if you checked for firmware updates via the management console AND the 3CX firmware page and found nothing and then went to Grandstream then that makes sense, but otherwise going direct to Grandstream is not the recommended path.

Which version of the client are you using as i have tried to replicate on an iOS device but the app runs fine on our test units. Have you tried re-installing the app?

just for the record, Beta 3 --> Alpha 3 ;-)

But even so, we at 3CX run already our production systems on Update 3 Alpha and general they are well tested but may the full test cycle is not completed or is pending customer feedback. In U3 Alpha it is very much a call for your Partners to test VoIP Providers as we made core changes to the DNS resolver.

iOS 12.4 no issues for me and I have nothing else then this device and the 3CX APP. May you use an expired TestFlight (Beta) App? Do you have a little dot next to the app?

Good Morning ,

Straight from the Apple store :

OS 12.4 I Phone 6S
16.0.1 3CX

Yes as I originally ran the 15. version of IOS until the upgrade . After the upgrade to 12.4 IOS , I upgraded 3cx to 16.0.1 to see if it resolved the issue . But it did not .

It all started with the upgrade to IOS 12.4 . Prior to this the app ran flawlessly . If I am away from my wifi router ( out of access range , the app will start , but when I get close to my wifi router , the app starts then just stops and goes back to my phone screen .

On my IPhone : main IOS screen no dot
In settings no dot
Not sure I know where this may be !!

After this occured , I tried to resolve by upgrading my 3CX at the APP store but it did not help .
FIOS Quantum router connected to verizon FIOS network .

.

Hi Richard,

You can follow up your original post regarding iOS for this.

As for the Alpha version and the firmware notice, I would recommend you stay on our stable build until update 3 is ready for production.
