Update: I ran "sudo 3CXStopServices" and then "sudo 3CXStartServices" and immediately got the email that my system had been upgraded (I performed the upgrade about an hour and a half earlier) and now my phones work. I still do not have console access, though.

Hi, I applied the V20 upgrade though the management console this morning, and now my phones aren’t working (showing “No Service” and calls are pushed to my SIP failover lines) and I can’t access the console. I can SSH into my machine and it shows that I’m now on Debian 12 and that 3CX is on version 20.0.0.1340. I made a backup before I started, and I don’t mind doing a complete reinstall if needed but wanted to check here for advice first.

There is no management console access in version V20, management of the system will not be through the admin console logged in with the system owner's extension.

Thanks! I had actually just figured that out about the console and was coming back to update my post with the new issue I'm seeing.

I am only able to access the console through https://company.3cx.us:5001/webclient/. If I remove webclient then I get a blank page. If I remove the 5001, I get a connection error.

Once I'm in the webclient, I get an Error 500-OK when I try to access the Admin page. Everything else is working.

You should only need to use https://company.3cx.us:5001 to access the admin console/webclient, but if you interrupted the upgrade by stopping and starting services, this may explain the loss of access.

Go ahead and download the 3CX ISO, redeploy to a new machine, and restore the backup. Complete the restore, but don't interrupt the process until it is competed,

I don't think that I interrupted the upgrade process because it was at least 45 minutes later before I looked at anything and tried the start stop command. I got the upgrade successful email and phones started working once I did that.

I will try the ISO restore later today since things are working other than the admin console access. Can I just reinstall the ISO onto its current machine? I have a backup saved on my main system that I can move over to my 3CX machine with a flash drive, or there should be plenty of backups stored in the current configuration. My 3CX is installed on it's own linux machine and is just used for a small office setup that can survive a small bit of downtime if needed.

Sure, but ensure you wipe the disk. Don't install over the top an already configured machine.

I was preparing to wipe my disk and reinstall from the iso, but decided to try running the configuration tool again. That solved my issues and I now have access to the admin section and the url is working correctly. So, I'm going to call it a win and walk away. Thanks for the help!

Are you having issues with the ringtones? After upgrading, all my ringtones are the same. Have been at it for 2 days, and nothing I do will fix it. Intercom, doorbell, external calls, all have the same ringtones, ring groups or queus, does not matter... If you could give me some light on what you did, I would appreciate it!

I only have one phone, but the external calls ringtone did change. I also had a new phone config file that was applied right before I did the V20 update, so I wasn't sure which caused my change. I was able to change it back to what I had originally set it to just by going through the settings on the phone itself.

The only other ringtone that I use is for extensions, but I use the ringtone that phone defaulted to after the update(s), so I don't know if it tried to make a change on that group or not.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the reply, but that did not help. I wish I could go back with the previous version, but we are hosted by 3CX and cant dot it now. What a nightmare. Our 20 users are going nuts over this! Doorbell, intercom and external all sound the same, and we cant even change that tone either!

You need to login to the Webclient using a system owner to access the new admin console.

I cannot access the admin console the user that was accessed during version 19 was user ID instead of email whereas in version 20 it should be email or extension.

Is there any way to get the email address given to the admin account or downgrade the system to version 19

Version 18…there was no 19. If it was a recent install, x100 is the default system owner created during the install.

You can install v18 and restore a v18 backup but I’ve read you need to ask 3CX to downgrade your license key to v18.

I'm editing this. V20 is fine, please don't ban me from the platform.
