Upgrading 16.0.16 to 18 and the simultaneous call limit

Hello,

Just like a few others here I received the mailing about the (forced) upgrade to v18.

I'm running the free standard version (v16.0.16) on a local windows server.

When I look at the licensing screen it shows that it can handle 8 simultaneous calls.

When I look at the princing table the free version it is now limited to only 4 similtaneous calls?

I don't know if I go over 4 a lot here but that might give issues on busy moments.

Is there also a sheet available that shows what features are gone in v18 since v16?
It's not that we use much more than the regular calling features tho but you never know something changes on ring group limitations or something like that.

Hello @GVB,

If you see a different number of SC in your 3CX portal than you see in the management console dashboard, you can try to refresh the license information (by clicking on the rotating arrows next to the license number).

You can check the changes between editions in our changelog.
The admin guide has a section Keeping your System Updated, that provides an explanation in regards to how the 3CX updates are downloaded and grouped

The guide on How to upgrade to v18 has step-by-step instructions that you may find helpful to complete the update of your system.

Nobody forces you to use 3CX. But I am guessing you chose it because it works well and gets updated, so update it, or change your system to something stuck in time.

I don't know if I go over 4 a lot here but that might give issues on busy moments.

It will go down to 4SC upon upgrade I believe, as you run the free version. I would suggest you go and swap to a StartUP which has no SC limit, only users limit.
