Upgrading 16 to 18 (Windows)

Hi everyone!

I am going to upgrade from 3CX 16 to 3CX18. I've read to just take a full backup, unistall 16, install 18 and restore backup. Will I need to do anything else with the windows 3cx client for mobile 3cx app? Will they auto upgrade? Should it be transparent for users?

Please let me know you experience with this upgrade.

I highly recommend the following:

Make sure Windows Patches are current (or close to current)
Reboot after uninstalling v16 before restoring v18
Make sure you are using supported Windows version (10, 2016, 2019)
When restoring make sure to match the Management Console Port (Generally 5001 or 443) and Tunnel Port (Generally 5090) to what you had before.

If you match the existing ports then the phones will just re-connect automatically. No change needed for Mobile. For computers there is a new V18 client that can be installed on Windows and Mac.

V16 windows client still works with version v18 , there is no update

this client had been replaced with new desktop client https://www.3cx.com/blog/unified-communications/client-apps/

sfter installing v18, check for any updates , as you may have to install the hotfix
