Hello,

I am still green to 3CX and am currently learning.

We have an FreePBX v13 that i followed the steps here to create the backup, retrieved it, then uploaded to the conversion tool here, the converison completes and I download it.

When I go to upload it during the setup of 3CX, i keep getting the below error regarding invalid backup file. It's a .zip and I've even tried uploading the other .zip that is contained inside the .zip that the conversion tool creates. I've tried simpel name, takign out the capital letters of the file name. I've tried three different browsers. Tried uplaodin the .xml that is contain in the .zip and I get an error there, too.

Anyone tips wouls be appreciated. Is this even where I would upload file at?

Thank you

I've never used that tool but it looks like you followed all the steps correctly so not sure why it isn't working. That is the correct place to restore a backup. What size is the backup file?

You will need to setup the PBX first as V16 requires an FQDN, after setup has been done you can restore from the backup you have.

It goes from the Freepbx .tar file size of 97MB and the conversion tool spits out a 5MB .zip.

Ok, to do such I just need to drop the .zip backup in the backup folder, right? If so I I did such and then select to load the backp, it does it's thing and then when I log back in, nothing from the converted backup is there. Not a thing.

Now you need to restore from that backup

Now you need to restore from that backup

In the below screen shot, the backup file from the converted one 3CX gave is the one I dropped in C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Backups

I select it and then click restore and wait, adn upon 3CX coming back online, not a single thing shows any extension, recording, anything from the converted FreePBX backup.

I believe I am doing this restore correctly, but it's just not working? Or am I completey off?

Well, your backup file must not be complete, maybe someone @3cx can help you with that.
