use 1 line for call and fax

Can i use 1 Line to recevie and make call from it and use it to send and receive fax mean i have 1 line connect to patton gateway and 3CX

Hi,

Send fax = yes it's possible

Receive fax and calls = no, there is no way choose where the call will go when someone sends you a fax. You will have to choose either incoming phone calls or incoming fax calls, but not both

To solve this you will have to buy a second number from your provider

Is this a PSTN line, incoming, to a Patton gateway? If so, there used to be devices available that would detect the fax tone and send the call to one RJ11(with a fax machine), if no tone, it rang another RJ11 jack, usually with a telephone set. Not sure if your sitauation would allow the use of such a device. You can probably still find them.

If you are using a Patton gateway and not an Patton M-ATA then you will have another port for another line anyway so just get another line (Patton 4112 JS is the smallest gateway officially supported).
