user not able to open chat

this is a follow up to this thread

our system:

• 3CX Version: Enterprise Annual 18.0 (Build 307)
• Server OS Debian 10
• Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? on prem
• IP Phone none
• Provisioning Method: na
• Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model : multiple
• Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
• Are custom Phone Templates being used: na

since 2 days there are some users that are not able to open a chat on ios app. if the users touches a chat, it won't open
the user can open the chat on windows system (webclient / desktop app)

chat directory gets bigger and bigger
root@3cx-p1:/var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Chat# du --inodes
22226 .

can I delete the chat history/photos of one user in any way?

Hi!

Try upgrading to the latest version of V18 as you seem to be a few updates behind.

Then, go to Dashboard and check the "Chat Logs" line. If it says "Disabled", click it and enable it, then go to Reporting --> Chat Logs --> Settings, and from here you could enable the option to automatically delete chats older than X days.

Maybe this could do what you want, but there is no way to specifically delete only the pictures.

chat logs is disabled, I really want to enable it, but I have to questions:
"We also recommend purging chat messages before using this feature."
How to purge the messages before?

the purge button is only there if it is enabled

"Enabling the chat log feature will show the administrator all chat messages in the company. This allows you to monitor business conversations.
However check with local legislation if this is admissible by law and whether you need to notify staff members accordingly."
The Microsoft 365 users with administrator sign-in will see the chat messages in clear text although their user don't has monitor right
