I have a perpetual 15.5 licence with a valid Maintenance licence and looking to update to v16 but I'm slightly puzzled as when I click on updates within 3CX it says all up to date and no updates available.

Does the fact I have a perpertual licence for v15.5 mean I am not able to update to v16 without pay extra even though I have a valid maintenance licence?

Many thanks.

Have you a Windows or Linux based system is the key question here.

Linux will prompt for upgrades between versions, Windows not. Windows will require a backup, re-install and upgrade to new version from the actual VPS itself.

Which kind of 3CX license do you use? STD, PRO, ENT ?
if STD take care of features loss before upgrading to v16.

Sorry, yes should posted that informaiton as well..

Currently running on a Windows 2016 server

3CX version number is Professional Perpetual 15.5.15502.6

Cheers

So as per my above, you are running the latest as far as Windows can see, backup, download v16 from the link posted, remove from add/remove programs on Windows - reinstall.

Oh and save a backup copy off of the server just in case ;)

I'd maybe consider moving to Linux too whilst you're going through the motions.

Agreed, we use Linux mostly now. This is the direction 3CX is going in plus you have the multi instance manager for Linux and obviously upgrading is simpler also.

My caveat however is that you still should have some Linux knowledge as a little administration on Linux is required I have found.

take care to use your v15.5 backup during V16 install , not possible after.

Might be a good idea switch to Linux if updates are easier than windows.

Just need to find a suitable window to switch things over and test restoring config files.

Good tools are PuTTY and WinSCP for managing your linux installations.

Thankfully we don't really take advantage of call recordings at the moment.

it takes 15 minutes to upgrade from v15.5 to v16
