Hello we are currently preparing to migrate an instance of 3cx running on a Professional Perpetual license v16.0.9 over to a Linux VM. As I understand it there is a 6 hour replication window using a pro license so if there are any problems it can take up to 6 hours to roll back to the windows installation if there are any problems. Just so I have the entire process clear are you able to clarify if everything is covered in these steps or if there is anything additional to be taken into consideration:
1. Backup voice recordings to a remote location.
2. Perform a backup of the windows 3cx install (leave out recordings).
3. Shut down 3cx services on the windows host.
4. Change the IP on the windows host.
5. Configure the new Linux install using the backup - re-use the same IP.
6. Restore recordings to the new install.
7. If everything works switch off the old windows machine forever.
At any point I should be able to switch on the old machine and restore the IP to what it originally was and at most I should be waiting 6 hours for the FQDN to update back to the old instance. If I set a deadline for 1am say and everything is not working on the new linux install I can be confident that the old windows install can be brought back to life by 9am the next morning? I am pushing for this to be done on a bank holiday were we would have an entire day to roll things back but the client seems pretty keen to do this overnight instead.
