We are getting into the nuts and bolts and features of the new v20 w/ Multi Tenant and it's quite amazing and helpful.

One issue we're noticing is that if we have a user multiple departments with a department administrator or manager role, they lose access to the administrator management.

Once they are in a single department, everything works fine, but adding to a second removes their ability to admin any department.

Is there something I need to enable?

We often have companies with multiple locations so each is a department so that local staff can manage their phones but executives can manage all the locations/departments.

Thank you in advance for the help!

For someone to administer the multi-tenant they will need to be a System Owner or a System Admin.

The tenants in the Multi-0tenant are isolated from each other. They will not be able to communicate with each other.

If someone needs to have multiple companies (departments) and configure them, they will need to be configured on a dedicated instance.

The multi-tenant is geared towards the smaller, micro customers who only have a few extensions in one location and one department.

We have a FAQ page about the multitenant as well at https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-multi-tenant-webinars-some-faqs.131809/

Thank you for very fast response.

I figured this were the case.

Is there a roadmap for features like this we can view so we don't have to bother the forum?

No, this is not what the Multi-tenant was designed for. If a customer has increased requirements this is a perfect opportunity for you to provide them with a dedicated subscription so they have the flexibility they require.

This is also the reason we have created the FAQ thread as well.

Understandable.

Most customers assume certain features and capabilities based on what we've seen other platforms offer.

So when the system allows someone to be in multiple departments and the departments show them say as a department manager, one would interpret that would allow them to manage departments.

Always fun to get into the weeds and figure things out that may not be a surface level question as the assumptions often are the ones that get in trouble later on.

Thank you for all the effort and time you put into this forum.

> system allows someone to be in multiple departments

That's a good question...seems like MT should prevent adding a user to multiple companies (departments)?
