I hear what you are saying re the yealink page, but our distributor told us otherwise. We also already have T7X and T8X in stock with us, yet they are not visible in the yealink web page, so I am wondering how up to date it is?

this is primarily about Remote Storage, not Backup.

I agree with the warning about remote storage of backups, but not being able to dismiss the banner for data archives is where it is annoying for my use case. The banner was helpful to remind us to setup backup archives, but the data (chat/faxes/recordings/voicemails) is not critical data in our business.
You're right, 3CX should not be used as a file server. Voicemails are already 'backed up' by being emailed and filed, then accessed from there if needed.
