V20 upgrade

i got an email that I must upgrade the V18 hosted PBX on 3CX to V20

my concerns are:

1. will I have issues?
2. any configuration change? (took me a very long time to get a stable working systems
3. can I stay with V18?

If you have set up your system in a supported manner and have read the requirements for version 20, then you should not have any problem.

You will not be able to stay on v18 as the system will be updated to v20 for you if you do not do this before the 31st of May 2024.

Systems, when updated to version 20 take a little while to update as they need to go through 2 OS updates.

Once systems are updated, you will receive an email to the admin email address.

@ronenba You need to be aware that the upgrade will perform 2 OS upgrades and one PBX version upgrade.
You need to wait for the process and receive the confirmation email and not keep trying to login as this can break the process.

so the upgrade was done, now no one can transfer the call to other extensions

when they transfer the call it rings at the other extension (they use the BLF button), when transferring using the extension number seems to be working

any ideas?

also on the V18 I could see the provisioning address on this V20 cannot seem to find the address to add to the phone (after I deleted the phone)


i push provision did not help

please advise

Your issue is only with ip phones?
What is the model and firmware version?

seems that blind transfer is working, but the second I choose to transfer by default the key chosen is Attended transfer, now the user need to press blind transfer to be able to transfer the call (was working fine on V18, now it is not on V20)

please advise

so I trick the system, I think i found a solution

on the grandstream - settings - Call Features - I changed: Attended Transfer Mode from Dynamic to Static

and on the Transfer Mode via VPK/MPK I setup: Blind transfer

I tested it in my home and changed all the phones remotely hopping tomorrow all will work



seems many issues with V20, each PBX will be harder to upgrade as each customer have a diffrent requirment ( i have Parking calls, to do it i needed to trick the system, provision the phone, then disable auto provisioning, and then setup the call parking manually to make it work, now I know after updating to V20 will need to find new solutions again)

one issue: each time the phone does provisioning I will lose this setting on the grandstream , after doing provisioning

now I need to go to Maintenance:
1. Upgrade and Provisioning
2. Config Server Path
3. remove the provisioning option
4. 3CX Auto Provision change to NO

please advise for a solution

Attended transfer stopped working on v20 ( and I would like to force blind transfer instead)

Is there a way to make more setting trough the 3cx so I won't need to force setting on the sip phones, and disable provisioning?

Any recommend sip phones that for sure working with V20?

Is it possible not to upgrade to v20 on 3cx hosted

Supported IP Phones can be found on our website at https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

When you configure a phone to the user you have the choice of selecting Blind or Attended transfer through the template



And yes it is possible to upgrade to Version 20on a hosted by 3CX platform.

I am using Grandstream 2170 on the list https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

Attended transfer doesn't work only blind transfer

transfer to BLF work only if Attended transfer disable on the phones and the provisioning with 3cx disable

Also Shared parking doesn't work
