IT expert, and user and fan of 3CX, NetworkChuck, has done it again! This time, the YouTuber has gone ahead and set up 3CX in the Cloud, opting for an AWS deployment. To show you just how easy it really is to get a free cloud phone system, he documented the journey - from AWS account creation to making outbound calls and setting up an IVR - in L...

I don't get this. You say you don't sell direct and want everyone with a partner, but then use a YouTuber to get to a broad audience of people who will do it and have it work without any help. Then we lose potential customers.

This guy's audience is IT people for the most part, what do you think will happen?

I am very uncomfortable with this. It's the second time you sponsor this guy.

Hello Frederick

This video emphasizes the simplicity of setting up 3CX in the cloud using Amazon Chime trunks.

Successful partners do more than merely set up an instance and a trunk. There are many functionalities 3CX has to offer that are not included in the video for example call routing, queues, Facebook integration, Live Chat CRM integration, etc.

Plus partners offer support and other services we do not offer to end-users. It is the responsibility of each partner to promote their value to potential customers.

Lastly, a customer who downloads free 3CX is sent as a lead to our premium partners.

A DIY video is no threat to our channel.

Thanks for the details.

I can confirm this is correct, I signed up for a personal 3cx that I was playing around with, the day after I created it I got an email from a 3cx partner.

They ended up becoming the reseller for our work account. 3CX is one of the most reseller focused companies I have seen so far.

Video's like this are built to get people interested in the platform, get them to "make the jump" to try the product. then when the partner reaches out to them they can find out if there is a way they can add a value added service. or if they just need to have a service sold to them.

In our case, we are (mostly) self-sufficient, but every situation and customer will be different. I was actually debating making some basic CFD tutorials to make it easy for people to "dip their toes" into some of the functionality. But admittedly I have been lazy and been putting it off.

I would never say giving customers information or a starting guide is a bad thing, especially since if they have a good "first day" with the system, it gives you a good starting relationship with the possible customer :).
