Today I was doing work for a customer of ours on a NEC system with a UM8000 voicemail. While working to setup their request I realized there is an amazing feature that would make group mailboxes easier.
Since we can do a key that would allow indication of a mailbox (I.E. Flash when there are messages, and pressing access a specific mailbox) we could do a distribution option. This would be great for a general mailbox or a mailbox that is checked by multiple users.
Right now how we get around this is multiple registrations on the phone (Manual configuration) so we can get the indication of new messages to multiple people. Not everyone wants voicemail to email and in some instances it's not conducive to the customer's needs.
There is so much more the voicemail could do an I feel it's a lot of untapped potential.
