I have dialled 99999 and pressed # on my startup addition of 3CX, But it asks for my PIN? Not to enter another mailbox number like the instructions say?

So how do I get into a Ring Groups mailbox to edit the greeting?

There is no group voicemail.

Voicemail to ring groups go via email to everyone in the group.

If you want to access another voicemail box you can do so by dialing the VM number then pressing # to log in to another extension.

Well, I have mine going to an empty Ring Group out of hours called 'Night Mailbox' and it does leave a message in that Group, perfectly fine and sends an email. But I want to be able to edit the greeting in that Mailbox.

I have also tried to dial my voicemail number and press #, but it says invalid and that I'm entering an incorrect PIN. Then locks me out. It's not accepting #.

Can anyone assist with how to get around this?

Hi @Terri Griffiths

Accessing a voicemail of another extension on the 3CX Free/SMB is not possible.
Additionally changing the voicemail greeting of a ring group is also not possible.

The group based voicemail boxes are not accessible. 3CX simply collects the recording and emails to the group. It is not a traditional voicemail box. As such, you cannot set the greeting on these "voicemail boxes".

If you need to be able to specify a greeting and connect and listen to the voicemail, then DO NOT USE the group voicemail feature. Instead, simply direct the destination on no answer to a dummy extension that has a voicemail box enabled, and set this user to forward emails to a email distribution list. There is effectively no difference in functionality and you get everything you are requesting.

So it's an SMB limitation on editing other Greetings. Thank you.

However, I am able to edit my own extension Greeting on SMB
